I want to thank everyone for their patience this past week. It took me a little longer than expected to recuperate from a medical procedure I had recently. I’ll write about it in more detail another time, but it was actually a great experience — mostly because I had an amazing team of healthcare professionals.
And no, it wasn’t plastic surgery. (Nothing against it — just not this time.)
Still, recovery is different now. We don’t bounce back the way we used to, and that’s just a fact of life. Apparently, parts of our immune system start to slow down as we age — our cells take their time repairing skin and tissue, and even small wounds seem to linger longer than they used to. No wonder this tiny incision on my back feels like it’s been part of my life for weeks.
