Today’s Sunday Stroll is short and sweet.

I didn’t make it out for coffee this week, but I did spend a lot of time with family — including a surprise visit — which turned out to be exactly what I needed. There was plenty of unstructured time: hanging out, playing games, building gingerbread houses, and letting the hours unfold without much of a plan.

I hope your Christmas week has gone well, too. I’ll be back next week, once the joy settles a bit and I can carve out some quiet time to think and write.

Until then, take care — and I’ll see you in the New Year.

Five Sunday Gems

  • Presence counts more than productivity. Some weeks, showing up fully is enough.

  • Surprise time with family hits differently. The unplanned moments tend to linger longest.

  • Joy doesn’t need embellishment. Games, laughter, and gingerbread houses will do just fine.

  • Rest can be social. Quiet doesn’t always mean alone — it can mean connected.

  • It’s okay to pause the output. Reflection often needs space before it finds words.

Home insurance rates up by 76% in some states

Over the last 6 years, home insurance rates have increased by up to 76% in some states. Between inflation, costlier repairs, and extreme weather, premiums are climbing fast – but that doesn’t mean you have to overpay. Many homeowners are saving hundreds a year by switching providers.
